

Five minutes later on the other side of the hill, I spotted this on the top of the ground just waiting to be picked up:

This is one of the thinnest arrowheads I have ever found.

One more good rain and this one would have probably been at the bottom of the hill and in this creek, most likely never to be found. It was covered in dirt more than a thousand years before this rain brought it up for me to find.

It was getting dark, so I could just hit one more place close by. I didn't find anything, but walking around the swamp ...

... and the creek that empties from it, was peaceful.

The last time Kathy and I was here just before dark, we saw five deer.
