Arrowheads and a Hike

Daisy, the good dog. The other one a, a lab puppy, ate a $500 Blackberry yesterday.

Kathy, making her way down Rock Mountain.

Squirrels like to hide in crevices and little overhangs and enjoy their hickory nuts.

Tree beginning to grow around this rock.

Jasmine is blooming now. Will not last long.

Creek running through ravine. Creeks like this would have been running for thousands of years, making it a good place to find arrowheads. In the creeks they are hard to find. but they are there.

Here is how the creek looks at ground level.

Rock shelter where humans would have camped for thousands of years. It's filed in my memory bank in case civilization breaks down, and we need a dry place to rest.

Smoke stains on rock shelter wall and ceiling. Could be very old.

Kathy found this tiny arrowhead. Its tip is missing. I don't think she realized it was an arrowhead before she picked it up. She rarely ever calls me for a photo before picking one up anyway.

And a little later, I spotted this arrowhead on the creek bank.

Some of the chips, flakes and tools we picked up.
